Todd Krohn, Temporary Instructor of Sociology, has been at the University of Georgia since 1999. He received an B.S. in Criminal Justice in 1988, and an M.A. in Sociology in 1994, both from Georgia State University. His specialty areas include critical penology, the death penalty, crime as political capital, the medicalization of deviance and the myth of mental illness.
Sarah K.S. Shannon joined the UGA Sociology Department in 2013 after receiving her PhD (and MSW) from the University of Minnesota.  Sarah's research focuses on systems of criminal punishment and their effects on social life. Dr. Mark Cooney, Professor of Sociology, has been at the University of Georgia since 1991. He received a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Virginia in 1991.
