Stephanie Hanus-Knapp

Congratulations to Stephanie Hanus-Knapp who has been selected for the 2025 UGA Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award! This award, administered in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning and UGA’s Teaching Academy, is given to no more than five recipients each year. Stephanie’s selection recognizes her record of distinguished service to the instructional mission of the university while also pursuing a rigorous program of study as a graduate student. Way to go Steph!

Graduate Student Accolades!

Ciara Peebles

More great work by our graduate students! Congratulations to Ciara Peebles who was invited to present her doctoral research on the differential media coverage of missing persons of color at Dalton College, shedding light on the critical issue of "missing white woman syndrome". Additionally, Ciara has joined the Black and Missing Foundation, Inc. (BAMFI) to help create media guidelines that promote more equitable reporting, aiming to address and rectify disparities in media coverage of missing individuals. Way to go Ciara!
