Explores the institutional dimensions of social and environmental sustainability. Institutions refer to rules and patterns of interaction that humans devise to orient/regulate their behavior vis-à-vis one another and the natural world. Institutional themes include collective action, property rights, national and international law, market-based instruments, and multi-level/hybrid/networked forms of governance.
