Dr. Paul M. Roman, Distinguished Research Professor of Sociology, has been at the University of Georgia since 1986. He received a Ph.D. in Sociology from Cornell University in 1968. Dr. Roman's most recent work examines organizational change and adaptation in national samples of 900 public and private substance abuse treatment organizations; diffusion and adoption of innovations by substance abuse treatment organizations; organization and management in a national sample of 400 therapeutic communities; management of substance dependence in the workplace, macro and micro dynamics of the treatment of alcoholism, implementation of policies in workplaces.
