Tiffani Everett is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Georgia. Tiffani has been at UGA since 2005, receiving her M.A. in Sociology from UGA in 2007. She earned her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Akron (Akron, OH) in 2005. Tiffani’s research specialization is social psychology, with concentrations in identity and emotion.

Tiffani’s current research threads are two-fold. In her doctoral dissertation research, Tiffani examines behaviors and identity confirmation in romantic partners. Using longitudinal data, she studies the relationship between identity and behavior evaluations and satisfaction in romantic relationships. Her other research area focuses on identity disconfirmation in registered nurses. She proposes that identity disconfirmation produces emotional consequences in nurses, and these emotional consequences are important in the prediction of job satisfaction and turnover among nurses. Past research topics of interest include account-making and identity management and use of facial thermography to detect emotions. Tiffani is current affiliate and past laboratory manager for the Laboratory for the Study of Social Interaction.

Tiffani is also interested in the sociology of teaching and learning. She teaches undergraduate social psychology, social interaction, and classical sociological theory at UGA. In addition to her classroom role, Tiffani also serves as an undergraduate academic advisor for sociology majors.
